AfroPunk London Installation

Collaboration with ScarlettC and Sonority

I managed to snag a spot on the artist list at London’s first Afropunk Festival at Alexandra Palace. I don’t think I’ve been to an event in London that had that many so beautiful african/caribbean people showing off there styles and culture. Imagine. We had basically a day to set up a bung of cardboard boxes, assemble them into a structure that would actually stand up! Paint them all white while there not attached to each other with emulsion, then Paint/Illustrate all over them once they dried… All this before the festival started. the amount of times we had to Deconstruct this is enough to give up.

Fun Fact, I spent the rest of the day Skating around the palace. Managed to catch Grace Jones, Laura Mvula and Kwabs live! Hope to do more festivals like this.
