NOBODIES - Lagos

Wumzum is a British born Nigerian illustrator whose work captures the movement and tones of contemporary urban characters using the visual language of comics and computer games. Using a style developed during his recent trip to Lagos, he will be documenting the audience as part of a live work. Accompanying him is our native narrator Jason Abaga, whose background in TV and film have led him to explore new African heroes and mythologies. This collaboration represents an important milestone in his ongoing work of building new mythologies using African storytelling techniques. NOBODIES are their blank canvas, characters created from our experience in this city. Ideas of people created on the night all with the purpose of wanting to be somebody.
